10 Most Violent Anime Characters
1. Alucard – Hellsing
Alucard is no ordinary vampire; he is a loaded gun, an integral armament of the Hellsing Organization-a group tasked with hunting down supernatural creatures threatening humanity. His powers include shape-shifting, evident enormous strength, and regenerative powers that make him almost indestructible. But it’s not the powers that are most terrifying; his enjoyment of violence is. He likes dangling his enemies a slow and painful death, more often than not teasing them before actually finishing them off. Alucard’s sadistic nature and complete disregard for life secure his position as one of the most iconic and chilling anti-heroes from anime.

2.Kenpachi Zaraki (Bleach)
Kenpachi Zaraki is considered the most feared captain in Bleach. Since his childhood, Kenpachi turned out to be highly compatible with environments of cruelty and developed a fighting style by fighting against every person standing in his way. His philosophy is very simple: strength means everything. Kenpachi seeks the strongest opponents on purpose in order to experience the feeling of an intense fight.

The fact that he has no regard for his life and will enter in battles that are potentially suicidal makes him even more dangerous. His brutal fighting style and relentless hunger for a good fight places him as one of the most violent characters in Bleach.
3. Lucy (Elfen Lied)
Lucy, a Diclonius genetically born with powerful telekinetic capabilities, has a very sad and violent history. Abused by society her whole life for being different from others, Lucy develops an immense hatred toward humans. Her “vectors”-invisible arms that can cut through nearly anything-make her extremely dangerous. While she shows moments of weakness, the traumatic events shaping Lucy’s life have made her a character who acts violently on impulse. Torn between a desire for revenge against the species against which humans offended them and at the same time a desire for connection, she is complex but never less than fearsome.
4. Guts-Berserk
Guts, known as the “Black Swordsman,” is a warrior forged from betrayal and loss. In Berserk, Guts experiences unimaginable terrors from fighting monstrous demons to the downfall of his comrades. His actions are driven by rage and the urge for vengeance as he clashes with his enemies mercilessly using a gigantic sword. Life’s struggle with endless violence exists in trying to survive a world full of death and misery.
Although Guts fights for survival, his unstoppable pursuit of vengeance makes him the personification of unbridled, violent will.
5. Hisoka Morow – Hunter x Hunter
Hisoka is probably the most twisted character in Hunter x Hunter: a jester who is completely unpredictable in his behavior, whose favorite thing in the world is to toy with people as if they were pets, and who survives by doing so-immigrant for battle, he might say. His obsession with fighting strong opponents goes almost to the point of madness; very often, he allows his opponents to get stronger just to have the pleasure of an exciting fight later on. Probably the most appealing yet unsettling thing about Hisoka has been how he approaches violence in such a dark yet almost playful manner.

He is one of those characters who makes the line between villain and anti-hero blur, motivated by nothing else but his taste for a challenge and more powerful means.
6. Shou Tucker (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood)
While he may never fight anyone, the things Shou Tucker does certainly rank among the scariest in anime. Infamously dubbed the “Sewing-Life Alchemist,” Tucker manages to sacrifice his very own family as test subjects in some grotesque human-animal hybrids called chimeras. What makes him really twisted is how prepared he was to experiment on his loved ones for the sake of his research. This psychological violence has left a mark, as his actions are really showing shock and disgust for the protagonists of the story and the viewers. Tucker’s cruelty brought him to Fullmetal Alchemist as one of the most disturbing and hated figures in that anime.
7. Toguro Brothers from Yu Yu Hakusho
The Toguro Brothers are notorious for their sadistic nature and incredible strength. Younger Toguro is obsessed with power, often upgrading his physical structure. The brother, Elder Toguro, is different in that regard-he can distort his body in grotesque manners simply to torture opponents. Together, they wreaked havoc in Yu Yu Hakusho, tearing down everything that came in their path. The entirety of their motivations could be twisted in nature and the will to extend to any length for their power make them memorable villains.
8. Madara Uchiha -Naruto Shippuden
Madara Uchiha is arguably one of the most powerful and intriguing villains in Naruto. A legendary ninja, he believes that his dream of peace can only be fulfilled by subjugating the entire world to his own power. The amount of devastation and suffering he causes to the world, to the whole nations, only to achieve that goal, is gigantic. With power, intelligence, and ambition, all combined, turning him into a dreaded force.
Madara’s terrors are not born from anger, but more of cold and calculated ideals, making his character one of the most dangerous in the series.
9. Vegeta (early) Dragon Ball Z
When Dragon Ball Z started, Vegeta was anything but a hero. A Saiyan warrior showed no pity to reduce a whole planet to ashes. Driven by pride and the thirst for power, Vegeta looked at others as lesser beings and never had any problem taking lives just to prove how strong he was. Although he later joins the Z Fighters and even shows a much softer side of himself, his early, uncompromising actions as a ruthless warrior cement him as one of the classic anime anti-heroes who balanced violence with the opportunity for redemption.
